Good Night Out Vancouver

Find out more about GNO

  • Good Night Out Vancouver (GNOV) is a Canadian chapter of an international campaign that seeks to end harassment on nights out. GNOV is a non-profit society powered by an amazing team of educators, outreach folks, and volunteers.
  • GNOV offers workshops on sexual violence prevention for restaurants, bars, pubs, festivals, art spaces, and the people who like spending time in these spaces.
  • GNOV also supports events and teams through at-event safety outreach, environmental audits and help with policy and prevention plans.
  • GNOV operates out of occupied and unceded ancestral territories of the  xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skxwú7mesh, and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ  people, Vancouver, British Columbia.

In this collaboration, our organizations wish to recognize that we cannot participate in work focused on safety, anti-violence, and consent without also recognizing the role of historical and contemporary colonialism in creating violence in our communities today. Dismantling rape culture and building a consent culture also requires dismantling racism, sexism, and other colonial ideals, including how settler exploitation and white supremacy can (and do) show up in organizations and institutions doing non-profit work.
